If you want to experience the mountain but don’t feel ready to climb, you can try a fantastic experience on a iron way in the beautiful Apuan Alps.
Vie ferrate (iron ways) are mountain routes equipped with fixed ladders, steel cables and bolted anchors that allow climbers and hikers to run along ledges, up vertical rock walls.

***Alpine guide is a professional of the mountains who has attended a professional course according to the Italian law Legge n.6 del 2 gennaio 1989. He/she is the only professional figure allowed to take travelers on rock, ice, snow or for canyoning, teaching the alpine techniques that guarantee the safety standards.
There are two different grades: Aspirante Guida Alpina (that has already carried out 90% of the formative process but still has some limitations) and Guida Alpina-Maestro di Alpinismo, which is the highest qualification obtained after 4 years experience. In order to work it is required to be registered to a designed professional register and to have a suitable insurance for third parties.
