Special guided tours between history, art and wonders
Extraordinary guided tours to discover Villa Dosi Delfini, a baroque masterpiece in Pontremoli.
Thanks to Sigeric you will have the possibility to discover this pearl of the italian Baroque, which opened its doors to the tourists for the first time in 2017.
The tour in the Villa Dosi is, first of all, a journey through time and history, but also an itinerary among frescoes, marble statues, paintings of famous artists, rich furniture belonging to different styles and periods.
A cultural and artistic heritage of a huge value, which tells the strength and the power of one of the most important families in the Pontremoli history.
The Villa
Walking along the suggestive Viale dei Chiosi, a few steps from the historic center of Pontremoli, you will never forget the moment when, looking up, the imposing and magnificent Villa Dosi Delfini appears before your eyes.
Considered the masterpiece of Pontremoli Baroque, the Villa is still today the secular representative of the history of a family: of its historical and social importance, but above all of the ups and downs that have involved its members over the last four centuries. The villa, in fact, was built between the end of the 1600s and the beginning of the 1700s by the Dosi family, rich merchants who later became marquises; decorated by artists of the caliber of Francesco Natali and Alessandro Gherardini, it regained its former glory at the end of the last century, following a long restoration.
After more than three centuries of history, this impressive treasure chest opens its doors to the public. Along our itinerary, we will first of all be able to admire the perfect and symmetrical rigor of the exterior, followed by the exuberance and magnificence of the interior decorations that evoke wonder and the sublime, the true hallmark of Baroque sensibility. Finally, we will visit the splendid hanging gardens, framed by the large terraced vineyard.
