Villa Da Passano in La Spezia, a fabolous terrace
Villa Da Passano with is monoumental garden is one of the most fabolous place in La Spezia, in the Gulf of Poets. The Park and Villa are located a short distance from the ancient site of San Venerio, patron saint of the Gulf of Poets, where the historic church, once connected to the Monastery of the Tino Island, is still visitable. This is where the saint, protector of the lighthouse keepers, lived as a hermit.
The Da Passano Family, from an ancient noble lineage, was a feudal lord of vast territories in the eastern Liguria, between the Genoese area and the Diocese of Brugnato, since the 11th century. The territory of San Venerio has been part of the family’s land holdings since the late 17th century, and since then the lands and the Villa have been expanded and improved. During the 19th century, it was Manfredo Da Passano who gave the villa its current appearance. He lived here with his wife Teresa Roggeri and their seven children until his death in 1922.

Villa Da Passano, a Garden Overlooking the Gulf of Poets
