Guided tour of Pontremoli Baroque in Lunigiana, dedicated to the Golden Age of Pontremoli art. We will discover the history and artistic masterpieces of Pontremoli between the 17th and 18th centuries.

The tour begins with the Teatro della Rosa, an 18th-century Italian-style theatre. The theatre was built following the wishes of the Accademia della Rosa, founded by Pontremoli nobles and intellectuals.
We then move on to Piazza Duomo, with a brief introduction to Pontremoli’s artistic history and a visit to the splendid Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. The church, with its white and gold stuccoes. Next, we will visit the church of San Geminiano, patron saint of Pontremoli, decorated with suggestive quadratures, i.e. painted architectural elements. But the visit will also take us to discover one of the most important examples of the 18th century in Lunigiana: at Palazzo Dosi Magnavacca we will discover the secrets of the Pontremoli Baroque, amid mythological loves and perspective illusions!
